ケープハイラックスはアフリカから中東にかけて生息しているハイラックスの仲間。
ハイラックスは哺乳類の原始的な特徴を有している。
例えば、体温調節機能が未発達のため、寒いときは日光浴をし、暑いときは日陰で休む。

The Rock hyrax or Cape hyrax is relative of hyrax that lives in areas from Africa to the Middle East.
Hyraxes retain primitive mammalian features.
For example, due to the less-developed thermoregulatory ability, they bask in the sun when it's cold and rest in the shade when it's hot.
