オドンタステルバリドゥスは南極に住むヒトデ。
彼らは南極海の掃除屋で、貝、海綿、アシカの糞、ヒトデ、ウニ等何でも食べます。でも共食いはしません。
このヒトデは、なぜか大量に群れていることが多いです。
Odontaster validus is a species of starfish found in Antarctica.
Odontaster validus is scavenger of the Antarctic Ocean and eats anything including shells, sponges, the faeces of seals, starfish, sea urchins, etc. However, they don't eat each other.
Somehow they often gather together in large groups.

Leiaster coriaceus / アデヤカオオアカヒトデ
アデヤカオオアカヒトデ。
太平洋、インド洋の熱帯に広く生息。
Sea star (Leiaster coriaceus)
Widely distributed in the tropics of the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean.
Asterina anomala / カワリイトマキヒトデ
- 極小ヒトデ
直径1センチ程度のカワリイトマキヒトデ。
基本的に分裂して増えるため、カワリイトマキヒトデを観察していると、数本の腕が大きくて、残りの腕は成長中の個体ばっかりです。
Asterina anomala, extremely small starfish. It is only about 1cm in diameter.
Due to the asexual reproduction, several arms are always smaller than the others.
It divides in two and each half grows a new half.

「今日の考察」に載っけている写真は、その日に激写した写真を載っけているわけではなく、過去から撮り溜めている写真を載っけております。
このため、約3年前に撮影した写真を、あたかも最近撮ったかのようにUPしているものもあります。
さて、本日（2012年5月13日）は鴨川シーワールドに行ってきましたので、本当に今日（2012年5月13日）激写した生き物をご紹介したいと思います。
イトマキヒトデである。
鴨川シーワールドまで行って、ヒトデなんか撮ってるんじゃねーよ！
とのクレームが寄せられそうではあるが、私は棘皮動物を見たらどうしても熱心になってしまうので、仕方が無いのである。
もちろん、鴨川シーワールドへはイトマキヒトデが目的で行ったわけではないのでご安心を。イトマキヒトデ目的で入場料2700円は払えません。
